Accessibility statement

Last updated: October 1, 2026

MIELA is committed to making mielaharvest.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every visitor to be able to browse, learn about and buy MIELA easily, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 at Level AA. mielaharvest.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which means that some parts of the content may not yet fully conform to the standard. We are working to close those gaps.

Measures we take

  • The Site can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator on links, buttons and form fields.
  • The menu, cart and other dialogs keep keyboard focus in the right place, can be closed with the Escape key and return focus where you left off.
  • Images that convey information have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Text and interactive elements are designed to meet color contrast requirements, and text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content.
  • Pages use a logical heading structure, landmarks and descriptive link text, and links that open in a new tab say so to screen readers.
  • Animation and video respect your device's "reduce motion" setting, and background video plays without sound.
  • Forms have visible labels and clear error messages.
  • Layouts adapt to phones, tablets and desktops, and to portrait and landscape orientation.

Compatibility

The Site is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers, including Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge, and with common assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS and TalkBack. It relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA to work with your browser and assistive technology.

Known limitations

  • Third-party content. Some parts of the shopping experience, including checkout and payment, subscription management and some email signup tools, are provided by third parties such as Shopify. We choose partners who work toward accessibility, but we do not fully control their content.
  • Documents and linked research. Our laboratory report is a PDF supplied by the testing laboratory, and research we link to is published by third parties; these may not be fully accessible. If you need any of this information in another format, contact us and we will provide it.

How we assess accessibility

We assess the Site through self-evaluation, including keyboard-only testing, screen reader testing and automated checks, and we review new features and content as they are added.
